Supervised visitation at the Alameda Superior Court

In Alameda County, custody and visitation (parenting time) cases go to the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda (Family Law Division; Family Court Services).

How supervised visitation works here

A judge orders supervised visitation in a court order. Statewide form FL-341(A) is the order used after a hearing about supervised visitation or supervised exchanges.
California describes two kinds of supervisors. Professional providers have special training and charge a fee. Nonprofessional providers are usually a friend or family member.
To schedule counseling, applicants read the scheduling instructions and submit an intake form.
Family Court Services provides child custody and guardianship recommending counseling and coordinates a professional supervised visitation and exchange provider list.
The court page on domestic violence cases points parents to Family Code 3044 information. Alameda also offers a guide and video on supervised visitation and exchange services.
Providers must follow California Family Code 3200.5 and Standard 5.20 of the Standards of Judicial Administration. Professional providers need 24 hours of training under the standard.
