Supervised visitation at the Contra Costa Superior Court

In Contra Costa County, custody and visitation (parenting time) cases go to the Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa (Family and Children Division; Family Court Services).

How supervised visitation works here

A judge orders supervised visitation in a court order. Statewide form FL-341(A) is the order used after a hearing about supervised visitation or supervised exchanges.
California describes two kinds of supervisors. Professional providers have special training and charge a fee. Nonprofessional providers are usually a friend or family member.
Parents must complete an online orientation and an intake form at least five days before a mediation appointment. Mediation is free and held in person unless remote is approved.
Parents with domestic violence restraining orders can ask for separate appointments.
The court's Family and Children pages list parenting classes and supervised visitation monitors as available resources.
Providers must follow California Family Code 3200.5 and Standard 5.20 of the Standards of Judicial Administration. Professional providers need 24 hours of training under the standard.
