Supervised visitation at the Fresno Superior Court

In Fresno County, custody and visitation (parenting time) cases go to the Superior Court of California, County of Fresno (Family Law; Family Court Services).

How supervised visitation works here

A judge orders supervised visitation in a court order. Statewide form FL-341(A) is the order used after a hearing about supervised visitation or supervised exchanges.
California describes two kinds of supervisors. Professional providers have special training and charge a fee. Nonprofessional providers are usually a friend or family member.
Parents must complete an orientation, offered in English or Spanish, before a mediation appointment. Participation is required before custody orders are issued.
Family Court Services has three tiers: mediation, more information gathering on judge concerns, and formal recommendations to the court.
Separate sessions are available in domestic violence cases. The office keeps provider lists for evaluators, supervised visitation and parenting classes.
Providers must follow California Family Code 3200.5 and Standard 5.20 of the Standards of Judicial Administration. Professional providers need 24 hours of training under the standard.
