Supervised visitation at the Sacramento Superior Court

In Sacramento County, custody and visitation (parenting time) cases go to the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento (Family Law; Family Court Services).

How supervised visitation works here

A judge orders supervised visitation in a court order. Statewide form FL-341(A) is the order used after a hearing about supervised visitation or supervised exchanges.
California describes two kinds of supervisors. Professional providers have special training and charge a fee. Nonprofessional providers are usually a friend or family member.
Family Court Services offers free mediation and child custody recommending counseling to people with an open family law case in Sacramento County.
The court's supervised visitation page says supervised visitation is meant to be temporary and should not continue past six months. Parties are encouraged to return to court if it goes longer.
The court lists professional providers and says it has not investigated or evaluated them. The information is self reported by providers, so parents should check for themselves.
Providers must follow California Family Code 3200.5 and Standard 5.20 of the Standards of Judicial Administration. Professional providers need 24 hours of training under the standard.
