Supervised visitation at the San Francisco Superior Court

In San Francisco County, custody and visitation (parenting time) cases go to the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco (Unified Family Court; Family Court Services).

How supervised visitation works here

A judge orders supervised visitation in a court order. Statewide form FL-341(A) is the order used after a hearing about supervised visitation or supervised exchanges.
California describes two kinds of supervisors. Professional providers have special training and charge a fee. Nonprofessional providers are usually a friend or family member.
Family Court Services offers free confidential mediation for custody and visitation disputes in family law cases.
The court keeps a list of professional supervised visitation providers. Each provider sets its own fees, which are shown on the list.
The Rally Program provides supervised visitation and monitored exchanges through UCSF Health, and Family Court Services facilitates it.
Bilingual mediators serve Spanish, Mandarin and Hindi speakers. Free interpreters are available on the domestic violence calendar or with restraining orders.
Providers must follow California Family Code 3200.5 and Standard 5.20 of the Standards of Judicial Administration. Professional providers need 24 hours of training under the standard.
