Supervised visitation at the Ventura Superior Court

In Ventura County, custody and visitation (parenting time) cases go to the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura (Family Law; Family Court Services).

How supervised visitation works here

A judge orders supervised visitation in a court order. Statewide form FL-341(A) is the order used after a hearing about supervised visitation or supervised exchanges.
California describes two kinds of supervisors. Professional providers have special training and charge a fee. Nonprofessional providers are usually a friend or family member.
Child custody recommending counseling is required when requesting custody or visitation orders. A free online orientation comes first.
Sessions are in person unless remote is approved. In domestic violence cases, separate sessions are available and the protected parent may bring a support person.

Providers must follow California Family Code 3200.5 and Standard 5.20 of the Standards of Judicial Administration. Professional providers need 24 hours of training under the standard.
