How supervised visitation works here

Colorado law calls custody the allocation of parental responsibilities, and visitation is called parenting time.
A court can restrict a parent's parenting time only if it finds the parenting time would endanger the child's physical health or significantly impair the child's emotional development.
When a court restricts parenting time, it must state the specific facts that support the restriction.
When abuse or domestic violence is documented, the court may order supervised parenting time to protect the child and the other parent.
A parent who says a child is in imminent danger can ask for an emergency hearing within 14 days, and supervised parenting time until then, using form JDF 1406. The supervisor must be a licensed mental health professional or someone the court appoints.
