Supervised visitation at the Cook County Circuit Court
In Cook County, allocation of parental responsibilities and parenting time cases go to the Circuit Court of Cook County (Domestic Relations Division).
How supervised visitation works here
- The Domestic Relations Division hears parenting time and decision-making cases, mainly at the Daley Center, with suburban courthouses too.
- Parents in divorce and parentage cases must complete a parenting education program, offered here as Focus on Children.
- Contested parenting issues, such as an initial allocation or a relocation, generally go to mediation first.
- The court's own site doesn't list a court-run supervised visitation program. The Public Guardian keeps a provider list.
