Supervised visitation at the Lane Circuit Court

How supervised visitation works here

Oregon judges decide custody using the best interests of the child, and the statute lists domestic abuse as a factor (ORS 107.137).
When a parent who committed abuse is given parenting time, the court can order that the time be supervised by another person or agency, and can require exchanges at a protected location (ORS 107.718).
In Lane County, mediation on custody and parenting time is required before trial, and both parents must first complete the Focus on Children class.
Parents can ask to stay in separate video rooms during mediation, and can contact the office before the appointment about safety concerns.
